CONVOCATION CEREMONY

The Open University of Mauritius, (OU) organised its Convocation Ceremony from 6 to 9 May 2024 at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute, Moka. Over seven sessions, 1600 students were awarded their diplomas, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, including PhD and DBA. The Founder Director-General of the Open University of Mauritius, Dr. Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, PFHEA, during his welcome address, highlighted the role of the University in making knowledge accessible to all, and how this principle guides the design of programmes at OU.
The final session of the ceremony also witnessed the award of certificates to students who completed their studies through the e-Vidyabharati and e-Aarogyabharati (e-VBAB) programmes, which included a number of scholarships awarded by the Indian Government, with around 70 graduates receiving their certificates in the fields such as hospital administration, NGO management, journalism and mass communication.

· Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Alladin, OU Board Member
· H.E. Mr Oskar Benedikt, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Mauritius & to the Republic of Seychelles
· Mr Kevin Ramkaloan, Chief Executive Officer, Business Mauritius
· Prof Paul Prinsloo (DLitt et Phil), Research Professor in Open and e-Learning, UNISA.
