Internet and Social Media Course for Beginners

The Open University of Mauritius (OU) has developed Employability Skills Courses that allow learners to acquire soft skills that are as important as academic qualifications, especially in an era of rapidly evolving knowledge.

Over the last five to ten years, technological advancements have taken a quantum leap forward. Social media, more so than anything, has deeply impacted many people’s lives. Today, social media tools like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, blogging, and Pinterest, to name a few, profoundly affect how people interact and socialise online.

The Internet and Social Media Course for Beginners is a fully online course. It covers the basics for those unfamiliar with the Internet and who wish to get acquainted with social media. Upon completion of this course, learners are expected to have acquired basic skills in searching on the Internet and using various popular social media tools.

Course Certification: A certificate of accomplishment will be awarded upon successful completion of all the Assessments and a Computer-based exam.
