Head of Sections
At the Open University of Mauritius, unit leaders stand in the way of the schools’ targets and objectives being set and attained in a most efficient and sustainable manner. In their role as integral members of the University’s collective leadership, they serve the interests of the institution by offering strong divisional leadership. The essential task they have is to guarantee that their departments are accountable for the accomplishment of the set aims of the University, especially in the promotion of academic excellence. Forthcoming and supportive, they give staff and students the leadership they needed to be people-oriented, enriching environment that promotes the participation of each individual in research, teaching, learning, and external engagement. Moreover, they foster the department’s vitality through cooperation and the implementation of novel ideas that assist in the University’s development. Moreover, their efforts also stimulate external partnerships, which are an important part of the school’s influence beyond academia. At the end of the day, unit heads remain the primary players in the university’s sustainability as they lead with dedication and sight in the long run.
